Mental Health Initiative

DSEF and DSISD are committed to providing students with critical mental health services in our schools.

In 2019, DSEF entered into a forward-thinking 3-year agreement established with DSISD, providing salaries for 3 Licensed Mental Health Professionals across all campuses, catering to social-emotional learning skills, counseling, and interventions for our students.

Re-upping our investment in 2023, the Dripping Springs Education Foundation (DSEF) and DSISD built upon their foundation with a renewed three-year commitment. This commitment involved expanding Mental Health & Wellness Support to include a designated Counselor, providing support to ALL DSISD Staff. This program stands as one of the first of its kind, setting a significant precedent for promoting mental wellness support within our educational community.

During the 2022-2023 school year, the district received an additional generous gift, specifically directed towards supporting enhanced programs aimed at fostering the mental wellness of Tiger Nation. One notable example of this enhanced support is the implementation of Hope Squad, which further demonstrates our unwavering dedication to the well-being of our students and staff

Become a mental health hero today, and help us continue funding these life-changing and life-saving positions in DSISD!

The Dripping Springs Education Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the generous donors whose funding enables us to provide essential, life-changing, and life-saving support for our educational community. Your contributions make a significant impact on the lives of students and educators, and we are truly grateful for your commitment to enhancing education in our community.

On the week of October 2, 2023, as we observe Mental Illness Awareness Week, we want to celebrate our partnership with DSISD and the strides we're making in enhancing mental wellness across the district. 💙 The Dripping Springs Education Foundation's Mental Health Initiative is committed to promoting mental well-being, and we couldn't do it without your support.

💡 Our Approach: Our approach to mental wellness is multifaceted, addressing the needs of both students and staff. Together with DSISD, we're proud to fund crucial roles within our schools.

👥 4 Vital Roles: Thanks to generous donors, including an anonymous multi-year gift, we're able to fund four vital roles:

1️⃣ Licensed Counselor for DSISD Staff: We're here for the dedicated DSISD staff members! They have exclusive access to a licensed counselor for much-needed support.

2️⃣ Licensed Mental Health Professionals: With a growing student population of 8,500 and counting, we support three licensed mental health professionals. They provide specialized assistance to ensure our students receive the care they deserve.

3️⃣ Hope Squad: We proudly back the Hope Squad, a peer-to-peer suicide prevention program. This initiative empowers students to support each other, fostering a more compassionate and inclusive school culture.

Gratitude: None of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of our donors. Your contributions make a meaningful impact on the mental wellness of our community.

Let's continue to raise awareness and support for our Mental Health Initiative during Mental Illness Awareness Week! Together, we can make a lasting difference.
